Dr. John Mark Toby has served as pastor at Beacon Hill Baptist Church since October 1999. He has been a pastor for twenty-five years and a Chaplain Lieutenant Colonel in the Kentucky Army National Guard for 27 years.

He is a graduate of Luther Rice Seminary - Doctor of Ministry Degree, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary - Master of Divinity Degree, The United States Army Command and General Staff College, The United States Army Chaplain Center and School - Chaplain Officer Advanced Course, Eastern Kentucky University - Bachelor of Science Degree, University of Kentucky - Certificate in Business Administration, and Somerset High School. He is Board Certified Pastoral Counselor and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.

He has served as the President of the Kentucky Baptist Convention Pastor's Conference, President of the Kentucky Baptist Convention and First Vice President of the Southern Baptist Convention.

He has been married to Cathy for 25 years and they have a eleven year old son Daniel and a springer spaniel named Sparkey.
