Meet our Counseling Staff:

Dusty and Melissa Phelps both received Bachelors degrees in Psychology and Masters degrees in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Kentucky University. They have been counseling in a variety of locations across the state for the last 15+ years. They have also served in youth ministry for the last 12 years and currently direct the Baptist Campus Ministry at Somerset Community College. Over the years, they have ministered together in a wide variety of settings to address a wide range of needs and have a passion to see people living healthy lives for the Lord. Whitney Brainard is a counselor with BHCC. She has earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology and religion from The University of the Cumberlands and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Campbellsville University. Prior to working with BHCC, Whitney worked with Southeast Christian Church’s Care Ministry in Louisville, Ky.

Whitney is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. As a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate, Whitney enjoys working with couples, marriages, individuals, and families.

“As a Christian counselor I believe that we were made to live in relationship with God and with others. It is my desire to help people heal, grow, and live an abundant life in Jesus Christ. Counseling is a journey of discovery, healing, growth, transformation, and renewal. It is my calling and passion to be a tool that God uses as he leads others into a life more abundant. In counseling it is my ultimate hope that all persons will come to know and experience Jesus’ words from John 10:10, ‘I have come that they may have life and have it to the full’”.
